Scientists are making good progress on making things invisible. They are making progress on stealth technologies using meta materials such as nanometer-sized plasmonic material that scatters light and other electromagnetic waves. Success so far seems to be limited to very small items but could be used to provide a 3dcloak around items that protrude from otherwise stealthy aircraft.
